Weight Lifting Benches for various muscle groups
The sport of weight lifting is a test of endurance for the human body. It is the optimization of physical as well as mental strength in order to be able to lift heavy weights opposed to the force of gravity. It helps burn calories and leads to the development of muscle mass. If you are looking to take up the activity, you must know about the various exercises associated with weight lifting and the application of techniques required in performing them. Weight lifting comprises of various exercises such as strength training, weight training, endurance training, flexibility training, cardio work outs and aerobics. Different exercises require different machines to help you work out various muscle groups and enhance your overall productivity. Weight lifting benches play a significant role in the development of muscle mass and help perform different exercises accurately.

Types of Weight Lifting Benches:

Benches are the most commonly available piece of equipment found in most commercial gyms. They enhance your workouts by enabling you to apply optimum pressure by using the right techniques. They have been scientifically engineered keeping in mind the needs of weight lifters. There are various types of benches available in the market and you can pick one that is best suited as per your requirements.

Adjustable Benches:
These are great for weight lifting workouts as they can be adjusted according to your work out needs. You can adjust them to flat, inclined or declining positions depending on your need. Some benches even have racks on one end for holding the barbells. The ones without any racks are used for performing dumbbell exercises.

Hyper Extension Benches: These benches are used for working the lower back, glute and hamstring muscles. Some gyms are also equipped with hyper extension benches that can be used for sit ups to work the abdominals.

Abdominal Benches: These are declined in shape and are extremely useful for performing abdominal exercises. They come with rollers that can be hooked to your feet to avoid sliding.

Preacher Benches:
They are specifically designed for working the biceps and come with angle pads where you can place the upper arms while exercising. They prevent the swinging of weights, thereby enabling you to isolate the bicep muscles. 

Consult a trainer:

In order to decide which training program is best suited for you, depending on the respective needs of your body, you must consult a certified weight lifting trainer. You must always go in for professional advice before investing in any weight lifting equipments. Exercise machines are often very expensive and are a one time investment. Thus, it is crucial for you to second your opinion before buying one. You must also familiarize yourself with the technical know-how of the different mechanisms and techniques involved in weight lifting.

Before beginning any training session, you must go in for a thorough medical check up to ensure if your body will be able to handle the pressure involved in weight lifting or not. You must also make a note of any ailments you might be prone to such as diabetes, stress, coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, asthma etc. before beginning the workouts.

Never perform any heavy weight exercises all by yourself, as this may result in an injury or a fatal accident. Remember, that the sport of lifting requires enthusiasts to undergo rigorous training sessions for long periods of time before they are able to lift heavy weights. It is only through perseverance, dedication and consistent performance that you will be able you reach your goals.
