The answer in No! a drink or two even on daily basis are not at all harmful to the system, if there is no pathophysiological or medical condition that demands completely no alcohol. In terms of body building aspect, it is the continuous and heavy consumption of alcohol that makes the situation difficult and complicated.
How does alcohol affect the bodybuilding?
Alcohol is a depressing agent, not in literary sense but in terms of neuronal activity. Alcohol affect the GABA receptors in brain and through a series of activity, slows down the functioning of brain, te central nervous system as well as the limbic and muscular system. This leads to a withdrawal from exercise routines, and also results in early muscle fatigues and lactate generation thus, addictive level drinking could be detrimental to all the hard work that you do while exercising.
