Habits die hard. Have you made disorderly eating a habit? Or are you unsure about what it means to have bad eating habits?Bad eating habits are those that will destroy your body from within. You won’t even realize it before it is too late. It is never late to rectify your eating habits. You must know that investing in a good eating lifestyle is investing in good health. There are a lot of direct and indirect relationships between good eating and good health.
Here are some reasons why people drift away from good eating habits…
- Lifestyle issues
Lifestyle poses the risk of eating at unusual times irregularly. Your body’s metabolism will turn turtle
- Lack of awareness
Lack of awareness of what is good for the body and what is bad for the body, can also be a cause for poor eating habits
- Emergence of fast food
You might want to club this with lifestyle, but to a large extent, the emergence of fast food has put paid the need to have the slowly and surely cooked food – that is so good for the body.
So what are the major bad eating habits?
Here we are talking about eating behaviors that adversely affect the body.
- Overeating
No food is good or bad, when eaten in excess. It is actually rendered useless. Fast food and packed food might be abundant in transfat – which should be avoided at any cost. Instead of overeating, why not break down your eating into short frequent and balanced meals. Let your food include fiber, and carbohydrates. Eat more fruit, and vegetables.
- Avoiding breakfast
You might feel guilty after a heavy dinner, and skip breakfast, or might be used to eating heavy dinners and feel that skipping breakfast might compensate for that. You have to understand, that the body is not a profit and loss balance sheet. Have a heavy breakfast – where heavy means, heavily balanced with nutrition and energy, and let your food volume slide down as the progresses and ends.
- All food and no water
What’s with loads of food that does not burn up. Water actually aids in the digestion of food. Without water, the food will just stay there as a rock, and might end up as storage, or wastage!
