Be a Muscular Vegan
Bodybuilding is not always gorging on high protein meat products and burning them away at the gym through high intensity workouts. It is true that meat provides oodles of calories and the required proteins to build muscles, but did you know that even some vegetarian food can also give you the same amount of energy and proteins to build muscle?
Protein is the most important factor when it comes to building muscle. You need to take vegetarian food that is high in protein. This diet should be well-balanced. There have been many famous body builders who have built their bodies purely on a vegan diet. It is not true that vegetarian food lacks the ‘protein-power’. This is conventional belief.
There are some veggie foods that provide plenty of proteins:
Walnuts: Walnuts are an excellent source of proteins. It provides lots of energy because it is plentiful in healthy fatty acids. The protein in Walnut is equivalent to that provided by chicken. Try not to eat bitter walnuts.
Eggs: Eggs provide proteins that is even better than that provided by red meat. The egg protein albumin has great protein-quality. The thing that sets egg protein apart is that all its amino acids are in exactly the same proportion or measure. This is vital for building active muscles that have a tendency to grow.
Cheese: Cheese like eggs has all the vital amino acids required for muscle growth. Cheese carried huge amounts of fat as well. So make sure you expend what you eat by getting yourself a good workout.
Almonds: Almonds are rich in proteins. These proteins are easily absorbed by the body as well. The quality of proteins in almonds is good. They are easily digestible.
Yogurt: Did you know that your body digests yogurt better than milk? Apart from being rich in proteins, yogurt boosts your immunity levels as well.
Bread: Bread can be used in combination with other food to form an edible protein source. For example Bread – cheese, or Bread – eggs etc.
