Laughter can heal many ails with its miraculous powers. Everyone enjoy laughing, if not than start enjoying as it’s a weapon that will help you in fighting diseases. Laughter is infectious. When it is shared with others, it brings them together, increase the intimacy and happiness. It cost nothing to laugh, so laugh to the fullest and enjoy it. Here are some benefits of laughter.

Benefits of Laughter

Laughter is very good for fighting stress, anxiety, anger, grief, tension and depression. It reduces the four types of stress hormones i.e. epinephrine, cortisol, dopac, and growth hormone. Through laughter you release your bottled-up emotions and develop a feeling of rejuvenation.

Laughter is very good for heart. It lowers the blood pressure and improves the delivery of nutrients and oxygen to tissues and also increases the circulation. It is thought as an “internal jogging” as it strengthens the heart muscles and is very good for those who cannot walk, jog or any other kind of cardiac exercises.

Laughter increases the immunity by releasing natural painkiller and thus helps in fighting common flu and cold. It also activates T cells which often lie inactive until something enlivens them to action.

Laughter also helps in reducing pain. It increases the level of endorphins (natural painkillers). Laughter build relationships and fight the loneliness as it brings people together. It also helps shy people in breaking the barrier and expressing their feelings, thoughts and ideas to others. It helps you in handing the unexpected situation with ease, to take up challenges and to come out of difficulty with smile.

Laughter increase the release of immunoglobulin A in saliva, which helps in preventing asthma, bronchitis and frequent head colds. It is very good for lung as it provides an aerobic workout for diaphragm and has a cleansing effect, by emptying the lung of more air than they take in.

Laughter helps in relaxing every muscle in your body. The muscles which do not take part in laughing, relax during that time while other relax after the laughter subsides.

Many doctors recommend laughter therapy to many patients. It rejuvenates your mind, body and soul. Now you know about this natural medicine (laughter) and its benefits, so why not make full use of it. So start laughing wholeheartedly and let others join too.
