Cellulite Exercises

Cellulite is a combination of excess water, fat and toxins that gets deposited under the skin and provides a cottage cheese like lumpy appearance to the skin. Women are more prone to get cellulites and most of them may have cellulite on their thighs, buttocks and stomach.

There are many anti-cellulite creams available in the market but its action may differ with the user. Hence the best alternative to reduce fat is through exercising that helps to reduce the excess water and toxins in the body through sweating. There are certain specific exercises for cellulite removal and following are some of them.

Exercises for Cellulite Removal

The best exercises for reducing cellulites must be the one that target the muscles of the affected area. It can be a short workout that lasts about 30 minutes but must be the intense and should be sufficient to fatigue the targeted muscles.

Kneel down on the floor and keep the elbows on the floor so that the body forms an arch and then straighten the back. Now slowly raise the leg and maintain it in a straight line with the back and after balancing lift the leg even higher till it makes an angle with the floor.

Maintain this position for a few seconds and lower the leg to the starting position and continue the exercise with the other leg and then make repetitions. This helps to tighten the hamstrings on the back of the thighs and reduce the cellulites.

Sit on a chair and hold the knees on outside with both the palms. Now push the knees outwards as if you are trying to push the hands out but at the same time push the hands inwards as if you are trying to keep the knees together. Keep this position for a minute and relax slowly. It helps to reduce the cellulite on the hips and outer thighs.

Sit straight on a chair with the feet kept flat on the floor and knees bent to make a 90 degree angle. Keep a pillow in between the thighs and try to squeeze the pillow as hardly as you can by exhaling deeply. Hold that position for a minute and then relax slowly to reduce the cellulite of the inner thighs.

Sit in a chair, hold the sides of the chair with the hands and lift and stretch the right leg. Exhale while doing this exercise and hold this position for a minute. Relax and continue with the other leg and this helps to remove cellulite from the front of the thighs.

Stand straight and keep the right foot one step forward and lower the body till the right thigh remains parallel to the floor. Hold the position and return to the starting position and continue with the other leg. This helps to get rid of the cellulite from the buttocks and thighs.

Simply contracting the buttock muscles for a few seconds also helps to reduce the cellulite.

Cardiac exercises such as jogging, fast walking, aerobic exercises are also ideal but be consistent to firm and tone the body.
