Correct Way to Lose Weight

There is always a debate if you should do weight training after or before cardio exercises. It is a constant confusion for all who exercise. Not only do they have to worry about what exercises they should be doing, they should also take care of the order in which they are to be done. Everyone wants to know how to lose weight effectively and quickly.

This article tells you why you should go in for weight training before doing your cardio exercises and why it is good for you if you want to lose weight.

The main reason to do your cardio after the weight training is that cardio uses up all the calories in the body and hence when you finish cardio and do weights, you will have no energy left to burn and will not be able to even lift the weights. Weight training uses up a lot more carbohydrates than cardio.

The body takes around twenty minutes to warm up and start losing fat. When you do your cardio after weights, the initial carbohydrates have been spent and during cardio you can lose the excess body fat as cardio exercises can be done using body fat.

Another point in favor of doing weights ahead of cardio is that your heart rate increases during weight training and hence when you start your cardio, your heart is already pumping fast. So within a few minutes of your exercise you are at the specified heart rate recommended for effective and safe weight loss and conditioning of your cardiovascular system as compared to just starting out on cardio.

If you visit the gym, you would notice that the majority do cardio before weights. This is because they are not aware of the benefits of doing weight training before cardio exercise. You could also split the weight and cardio training by doing weights in the morning and cardio in the evening or alternating them.

Unless you are training for endurance, doing cardio before weights does not really help. So if you really want to lose weight, finish your weight training and then go in for your cardio vascular exercises.
