Craving Controls Are A Must For Healthy Body
What you sow is what you reap, is an age old saying that we all believe in since eternity. In the same context, what we eat decides what we look like, but this is something most of us do not take care off or most of us are even unaware off. In the rush of our life, we forget to nurture our body with nutrition and healthy diet consequently leading cravings for unhealthy or junk food.
Causes of food craving
Dieticians are unanimous on the concept that fasting of more than 4-5 hours make our body loose on energy front, this in turn leads to a energy deficit, which the body wants to overcome at the earliest possible. This leads to a craving for carbohydrate rich food. Carbohydrate, mainly sugars trigger the insulin secretion which assists in producing energy. Insulin further ensures that body stores energy in the form of fat deposits to overcome any future energy deficit created by lack of food or dieting. This self help mechanism of the body results in obesity and in turn becomes a curse instead of blessing.
How to avoid craving for harmful food ?
Food craving is natural and so is the desire to succumb to it, but a little practice with cautions in mind could make us free from the harmful effects of craving for junk food.
Eat small meals every 3 hours
A small meal in every 3-4 hours prevents starvation and maintains a uniform sugar level in the body preventing over secretion of insulin from the pancreas. This in turn ensures better health prospects and lowers the chances of gaining fat.
Make a rule to have a healthy breakfast daily
The most important meal of the day is your breakfast, do remember this very well. A good breakfast bails you out of most of the health problems. Breakfast ensures that you are full of energy and body does not have to stress itself for provision of energy from alternative sources. Breakfast also provides a good control over cravings as well.
