Improving the immune system

The immune system of a body consists of the proteins, tissues, organs and other special cells in the body. The function of the immune system is to defend the body against all kinds of attacks from microorganism or germs which tries to get into the body and cause havoc in the good functioning of the body. When these micro organisms get into the body, it will result in any disease or infection. Usually the immune system works like a good security preventing the body from sustaining any diseases. But when the immunity is weakened there will come the possibility of us getting diseases.The immune system of our body is well maintained by having a well nutritional diet also. The kind of nutritional intake we have results in getting stronger or weaker immune systems. Medical experts have found out what type of nutritional foods will help the immune system work well. Vitamin C: Many studies have taken place in order to find the best nutrient that will support the immune system. Among the results Vitamin C tops the list. Foods rich in Vitamin C will strongly influence the serum levels of C3, IgM and IgA. This strengthening of serum level will result in the good functioning of the immune system. Vitamin C had another role too in helping to generate cytokines which help the immune system fight the virus.

Vitamin B6 is also important: Vitamin B6 has its important function in metabolism of protein and cellular growth. These two factors help a lot in the immune system to fight for the body. Vitamin B6 also helps in the healthy status of lymphoid organs, which are used in making white blood cell. Deficiency in Vitamin b6 will lead to decrease in the production of antibodies which will result in the compromise of the immune system.

Vitamin A: Vitamin A is found in vegetables and some colorful fruits. It has antioxidants that help fight free radicals in the attack of cells. Free radicals are by products of oxygen metabolism that may end up as reasons to lowering the immune system.

Vitamin D: This type of vitamin is soluble in fat. Vitamin D is present in only very less food items. It is also produced when ultra violet rays from the sun strike on the skin thereby initiating synthesis of vitamin D. vitamin D is also antioxidants. It is needed for the neuromuscular modulation and immune function.

Vitamin E: This vitamin increases the production of B-cells. B-cells are the cells that are responsible for the production of antibodies that help in destroying bacteria. Vitamin E helps in initiating the production of the natural cells which destroy germs and cancerous cells.

These are some of the nutritional food items that will help in increasing the immune systems of the body. When having the above mentioned vitamins in desired level in the body, it will result in the boosting up of immune systems.
