Isolation Exercises

Bodybuilding is an art and it requires immense patience and hard work. Bodybuilding exercises tones the whole body and builds the muscles by improving and developing muscle cells.
Sometimes, bodybuilders adopt the isolation muscle building approach focusing on a particular area of body at a time like building abdominal muscles or biceps only. It is required to be conveyed to bodybuilders practicing this approach that our body parts do not function in isolation.
Muscle building exercises work like a chain reaction. The larger muscles of the body assist the smaller muscles to develop the strength involving a complex process of bodybuilding. When the exercises which focus on a certain body area are performed and other areas of the body are neglected and are not toned up with exercises, then there is an adverse effect on the muscle joints.
Exercises focusing only on certain body parts do not strengthen the whole body and body parts which are not strengthened with workout become the weak parts of the body. Hence, the body rather than being fit and healthy would become a compilation of unfit body parts, some parts stronger than others.
Workout performed for the complete body tones the whole body and provides strength to the all muscles of the body. Full body workout creates fit and healthy body, increases the rate of metabolism, detoxifies the body, induces flexibility and reduces body fat. It also augments the production of muscle building hormones like growth hormone and testosterone.
Alternatively, isolation exercises increases the chances of getting hurt and does not reduce the body fat. The example would make the concept of isolation muscles and full body workout clearer. Exercises like deadlifts, sit-ups, aerobics, squats etc. work on multiple muscles at the same time. They treat body as a unit and make joints strong and flexible.
These exercises provide the strength to full body. Full body workout also burns the body fat. On the other hand, leg extension exercise works on quadriceps and damages the knee joints when performed for long time. Strength training for bodybuilders requires full body workout involving a variety of exercises to tone up the whole body.
