Travel related diseases and illness are a major cause of health problems amongst travellers and international tourists, throughout the globe. It is a well known and understood feature that most of the people who get sick during travelling loose the fun.

Therefore, it has become a very important concern for the global medical society to have a look at the various aspects of travel sickness and also to help nearly 50 per cent population of tourists and travellers that suffer from one form of travel sickness or the other. In the present article, we would be giving you a tip-off to enhance your chances of a healthier and more effective travel.

Preparing for your travel from a health perspective

In order to ensure a healthy and more effective for your own self as well as for your family ensure that you undergo a thorough medical check-up. It is important that your doctor confirms your fitness for a long trip. It is always better, to prevent than to repent, vaccination is a very good way to prevent yourself from some of the major travel diseases.

Once you confirm your trip, make it a point to have a complete medical kit along with your self to ensure safety from any untoward conditions during your journey. If you have a weak eye-sight and use lenses or specs, it is always better to have a spare pair, just in case you may require it.

Most of the travel problems are food or drink borne

In general, it is a well observed fact that most of the tourist problems are generally rooted in the food that we eat or drinks that we take during travel. Gastro intestinal diseases cover nearly 70% of the travel problems, apart from a culture shock.

Therefore, always ensure that you drink boiled or bottled water; you may also use water purifiers or tablets. It’s better to avoid ice in drink, because you may be unsure of the kind of water used for making ice. It is always better to use pasteurized milk or dairy products. Eat a properly cooked food only and avoid eating cold, store food.
