Natural Bodybuilding Diet - Make your Diet Plan
April 10, 2008
One of the greatest myths in body building, especially to that of beginners, is that by eating everything in sight and trying to lift the heaviest weights possible will help you to bulk up; this of course is completely untrue. The only way to properly bulk up and be healthily in shape is by sticking to a natural bodybuilding diet and combining that with the proper bodybuilding exercises. In fact, if you were to try this strategy you would see that all you would gain is fat.
One of the most important factors to any natural bodybuilding diet is that of the fact that you need to increase your carbohydrate intake to at least between 1.5-2grams of carbs per pound of bodyweight. This is because in order to gain muscle, you need a decent carbohydrate intake in order to keep your energy levels high and to help shuttle the amino acids from your proteins into the muscle tissue.
Eating proper nutrition is of extreme importance, as it helps a great deal in burning your calories on one hand and building your muscles on the other. You should consume about 17-19 calories per lb of body weight for muscle gaining. Your food intake should be such that, 30% of calories should be contributed by proteins, 50% by natural carbohydrates and 20% should come from fats. Processed foods and foods containing high sugar content should be avoided. Make it a point to consume 1 gram of protein per lean pound of body weight per day, at any cost.
In a natural body building diet, it is not just important to watch the amount of carbohydrates you consume. It is also important that you look at the kinds of carbohydrates you take in. For a natural body building diet, it is recommended that you take low glycemic carbohydrates, which are carbohydrates that are slowly digested by the body.
Some researches revealed that the intake of low glycemic carbohydrates keeps the energy level up while maintaining the blood sugar levels and lowering your appetite. Foods rich in low glycemic carbohydrates that you may opt to add in your natural body building diet include oatmeal, brown rice and sweet potatoes.
When undergoing a natural bodybuilding diet, you do not have to take all the fats out of your diet. Fats are important in keeping the integrity of cell membranes and for the production of hormones. Approximately 1.5-3 tablespoons of essential fats are recommended every day.
Choose good fats in your natural body building diet. Unsaturated fats, such as omega-3 fatty acids, are beneficial for the body. Sources of good fats include fish oils and olive oils.
