Protein for Bodybuilders

For bodybuilders, protein is a magic drug. If the ample amount of protein is maintained in diet, bodybuilders can build muscles at a faster pace. Proteins have wider benefits than harnessed by the bodybuilders.

The right amount of proteins when incorporated in diet enables bodybuilders to leap towards the big muscles. Read further to discover the benefits of proteins.

Protein for muscle growth – Protein intake vis-a-vis calorie intake decides the growth of the muscles. Ideally, protein intake should be higher than the carbohydrates and fat in the diet to facilitate muscle growth.

Count the Proteins – Eat proteins deliberately and the count the amount of proteins you are consuming. For every pound of your weight, you should consume one gram protein to maintain healthy standard of proteins in your body.

Extra Proteins for Fast Metabolism – For those blessed with fast metabolism, the protein needs are higher. The reason for this is their body uses proteins for fuel, thereby increasing the protein amount required by body for muscle growth. Such people should consume 1.5 grams of protein for every pound of their body weight.

Carbohydrates – Unless you are dieting with bodybuilding, make sure you consume carbohydrates in the proportion of 2 grams for every pound of your body weight. This creates a pool of carbohydrates in the body which is utilized for energy rather than using proteins for energy.

Protein Diet SupplementsProtein supplements can be used for replenishing the proteins in the body. Powdered protein also gets absorbed in muscles at a faster pace. Dieting – If you are dieting and doing bodybuilding at the same time, increase the protein intake to make up for the reduced quantity of carbohydrate in body. The body burns the proteins for fuel in the absence of carbohydrate and hence, less protein would be available for muscle growth.

Just by ensuring the right quantity of protein intake for your muscle growth combined with workout and a perfect bodybuilding regime, you can be the proud owner of big muscles.
