Stretching and relaxing the body is an excellent means of gaining an improved lean body mass as well as relaxing out. In the day today life, the mechanized human body i.e. we all, have forgotten the essence of a few relaxing exercises, that can not only help us in improving our performance, but also provide a much needed relaxation for our body. Stretching exercises do not require any gym to work out and may be performed even without the aid of a trainer.

What should be done to enjoy stretching exercises?

Make it a point before any exercising to do a warm up session. Warming up prepares your body and muscles for exercising. Warming up also ensures proper blood flow to the peripheral i.e. the musculoskeletal part of the body reducing chances of injury.

Another important thing while stretching is to maintain a posture for as long as possible (atleast for 15-20 seconds), it is with increasing the stretch time, maximum benefits to the muscles are warranted. Focus properly on stretching exercises and do not over do your body limits this can become harmful to tendons. It is also important to note that while stretching exercises never do jerky motions or too much jumping etc. It is researched fact the fluidic and smooth motions are best for the stretching exercises to be effective and beneficial.

Stretching before and after weight training

A very important point for weight trainers to understand is that stretching before exercise helps to ensure protection from muscle injuries and muscle tearing. Stretching afterfinishing weight training for the day is a very fruitful mechanism to avoid lactic acid deposition in muscles and therefore, preventing muscle fatigue improving your ability to increase number of reps.

Conclusively, with a variety of stretching exercises available (which will be discussed later in the blog), it is not a bad idea to select the best ones suiting your need, and making the best out of our exercising schedule.
