So, are you also one of victims of double chin, the skin hanging below the chin? Looking at yourself in the mirror you must be wondering, “When did you end up in having double chin and why? As soon as we become overweight, one of the places where we can see its effect is neck, thus resulting in double chin.  Overweight is not the only cause of double chin. Even if you are skinny, you can still have double skin, if your jaw line is not sharp and you don’t exercise daily. Along with this, it can be because of aging also.  Here are few tips that can help you to get rid of double chin.

Tips to get rid of double chin

Definitely, facial exercise will help you in removing the hanging skin but control on your diet is also important. Your double chin indicates the extra fat in your body. So, control your diet by checking your calories intake. Lower the calories intake, lower will be the fat. Eat more of fruits and vegetables and whole grains. Avoid fried and fatty stuff. Along with healthy diet, do exercise regularly to keep your body fit and reduce the fat. Face the fact that we need to burn more calories than we actually consume.

Facial exercises

With your head tilted backwards, open your mouth as if doctor is checking your throat, the only difference is no need to show your tongue and move your jaw up and down. Repeat it 10-15 times a day. Along with this you can do this to get rid of your hanging skin; open your mouth wide or simply stretch your smile till your cheeks hurt, pull your bottom lip on your bottom teeth and then, move your jaw up and down.

I know, you must be thinking that you will look like a clown but once you will try this you will come to know that these exercises can do wonders for your double chin.

Another remedy to get rid of double chin is proper posture. Sit or stand straight with your shoulders back, stomach in and jaw jutted out during the day. Rotate your neck in clockwise direction and in anti-clockwise direction. This is one of the exercises that you can follow.

Chewing sugar-free gum is another option to prevent the fat or loose skin below your chin as it will keep your facial and jaw muscles moving and working. One of the simple exercises that you can follow is, apply cream under your chin and stroke your neck firmly from base of the throat to your chin. These strokes should be quick.
