Yoga Postures for Fatigue and Tension

Fatigue and tension leave the mind and body exhausted. Let us cut to the chase and know about some useful yoga stretches that will leave you feeling refreshed and relaxed.Fish Pose

For this position, lie down on the floor. Breathe in, raise and arch the upper body in such a way that the top area of the head touches the floor. Hold this position for 5 to 10 seconds. Breathe out and come back to the original position.

Do not practice this exercise if you are suffering from pain in neck or surrounding regions. While doing this position do not put much pressure on the neck.

Shoulder Stand

This position improves circulation of blood in the lower region. It is especially beneficial for those who remain standing for several hours during the day.

Lie down on your back and rest your arms on the sides. Breathe in and slowly raise both the legs upwards such that they are perpendicular to the upper body. Now, place your hands on your lower back and allow the legs to bend further, making an angle of 45 degree with the body.

Slowly come back to the perpendicular position. Hold the position for a few seconds. Breathe out slowly and bring the legs down.

Child`s Pose

It is a pose for the adults, obviously. Kneel on the floor such that the weight of your upper body rests on the ankles. Bend the upper body forward and place the head on the floor, inwards. While doing so, place your arms backwards, near to the feet.

Do not perform this position in case of a back injury or acute back pain.

Abdominal Bends

Sitting for too many hours can stress the abdominal region. Side bends help in releasing stress from this area. Stand straight and spread feet a little part. Place your hands on the waist. Breathe in and bend left side.

Hold position for few seconds then come back while breathing out. Likewise, breathe in and bend towards right side.

Dog Position

Stand straight and spread the feet apart. Bend forward and place your hands on floor. Arch body to stretch the legs while remaining in that position. This will make the body appear as an inverted V. Hold the position for few seconds then relax.
